Who we are
Hourlet is made by Rudra K, who is responsible for this policy. Questions or requests: kumarrudra672@gmail.com.
No accounts, analytics or tracking
There is nothing to sign up for and nothing is measured.
Update checks
Once a day Hourlet downloads a small file from this website to see whether a new version is out. If you choose to install an update, it downloads it from the same site. These are the only network requests the app makes. They send nothing about you or how you use Hourlet, only what any download sends: your IP address and a User-Agent naming the app's and Sparkle's versions, which the hosting provider may log. Hourlet does not send a system profile. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings › General.
Your data stays on your Mac
Tasks and focus history are saved as files in ~/Library/Application Support/Hourlet. Preferences are saved in the standard macOS preferences system. Deleting the app and that folder removes everything.
Backups and exports
Hourlet keeps copies of your data in the Backups folder inside that folder: one a day, one before each update, and one before you reset or replace data. Old copies are deleted automatically. Export writes a file wherever you choose; Hourlet never uploads it.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, macOS schedules them on your Mac to tell you when a session ends.
Music and Spotify control
If you choose Apple Music or Spotify as your sound, macOS asks whether Hourlet may control that app. Hourlet uses the permission only to play and pause your playlist. It does not read your library or listening history. Apple Music and Spotify connect to their own services under their own privacy policies.
Ambient sounds
Rain and noise sounds are generated on your Mac in real time. Nothing is recorded.
Focus Guard
Focus Guard is on by default in Track only mode. During focus sessions, Hourlet notes the name of the app in front so Statistics can show where your focus went. It never reads window titles, screen contents or keystrokes, and takes no screenshots. App names and identifiers are saved with your focus history on your Mac, along with "Away" periods when your Mac or display sleeps or the screen locks. You can set Focus Guard to Off in Settings.
Distracting websites
This is optional and off until you add a website to your list. During focus sessions, while a supported browser is in front, Hourlet asks it every few seconds for the address of its front tab, compares only the site name with your list, and discards the address. It never saves page addresses or your browsing history. Only time on sites you listed is saved, as the site name, with your focus history on your Mac. macOS asks your permission once for each browser, and you can take it back in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Automation.
Do Not Disturb
If you turn this on, Hourlet runs two shortcuts you choose in the Shortcuts app when a session starts and ends. It doesn't read or change your shortcuts.
Calendar
If you turn on "Plan around my calendar", macOS asks whether Hourlet may access your calendars. macOS grants full access, but Hourlet only reads: your calendar names, and your upcoming events' title, time and status (all-day, free, declined), to end sessions before events that block your time. It never changes or copies your events. It stores only which calendars you chose to exclude. A heads-up notification may show the next event's title.
This website
This site uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts, and loads no fonts or files from other servers. The hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
Your rights
Because Hourlet collects nothing, the developer holds no personal data about you to access, correct or delete. Everything Hourlet keeps is on your Mac, under your control: you can export it, or delete it by removing the app and its folder.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
